Closing Circles was born from a gap we saw firsthand. For too long, the funeral industry only wanted to know you at the time of need. When Voluntary Assisted Dying became law in Western Australia in July 2021, that gap became impossible to ignore.
A planned death changes everything about how a family needs to be supported. Families choosing VAD often have weeks or months of clarity most people facing death never get, yet there was no one to help them use that time: to work through the legal steps, talk through what a service should look like, or simply sit with what was coming. That support gap, before the moment of death rather than after it, was the need no one else was meeting.
Closing Circles exists to fill that gap. We sit with families early, working through every wish together: viewing arrangements, who should speak, what the service should feel like, and the reassurance that when the time comes, we’ll care for their loved one’s body ourselves. We validate what families are feeling, offer practical guidance through the legal and logistical steps, and build a sense of community around them during one of the most significant periods of their lives.
Kelly-Anne spent more than a decade inside the funeral industry, with long-standing and reputable companies, and saw the same pattern repeat, not through malice, but through default. A daughter left to guess at details she was told were finalised. Finer wishes treated as "something for the family to remember." A dying man's wish to spare his family conflict, unhonoured, because nobody built the mechanism to protect it. These weren't one company's failures. They are what happens when an industry is built around predictable overheads instead of personal truth, when digging for who someone really was gets treated as extra work, instead of the whole point of the work. Closing Circles is the answer to that pattern, founded in 2025 in Bassendean, and carried in a promise renewed with every family since: never again, not while Kelly-Anne is the one in the room.
Our mission is to make sure no family is left guessing what their loved one truly wanted. We do this by sitting with families early, before grief takes over, so wishes are heard, understood, and honoured well before the moment they're needed most.
We're working toward a funeral industry that shows up before loss, not just after it. Through early conversations, clear pricing, and genuine guidance, from end-of-life planning to Voluntary Assisted Dying support, we want every Perth family to have the time and clarity to say goodbye on their own terms.
We promise to make ourselves available before the moment of loss, not just after it, wherever and whenever you need us, with guidance and a plan shaped entirely around what your loved one truly wanted. Just steady support until every wish is known and honoured.
We will be there when you need us.
